*Data Engineer Manager - GCP | Hybrid in Nashville, TN*
*Compensation:* $140,000-$150,000 base + 10% annual bonus + full benefits *Client:* TEKsystems' large healthcare client *Overview:* TEKsystems is partnering with a large healthcare client to hire a *Data Engineer Manager* with strong leadership capabilities and deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), particularly BigQuery. This is a *hybrid role based in Nashville, TN*, offering a competitive salary, bonus, and benefits package. This role is ideal for a technically skilled data engineer who thrives in a leadership capacity, enjoys mentoring teams, and is passionate about building scalable data solutions in a collaborative environment. *Top Skills & Qualifications:* * *GCP Expertise:* Proven experience designing, building, and scaling data pipelines in GCP, especially with BigQuery. * *Development Skills:* Strong in Python and SQL, with full SDLC experience. * *Team Leadership:* Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide data engineering teams, monitor performance, and resolve bottlenecks. *Soft Skills Are Critical:* The ideal candidate is a people-first leader with strong follow-through, organizational skills, and a collaborative mindset. These qualities are more important to the hiring Sr. Director than technical skills alone. *Nice-to-Have Skills:* * Experience with GenAI * Familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices * Automation and deployment streamlining *Key Responsibilities:* * Design and maintain scalable data pipelines using GCP services. * Develop and optimize complex SQL queries for ETL/ELT processes. * Write clean, efficient Python code for data processing and automation. * Collaborate with architects, analysts, and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions. * Ensure data quality, integrity, and security. * Troubleshoot and resolve data issues with root cause analysis. * Lead small to mid-sized data initiatives from concept to deployment. * Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development. *Required Experience:* * 5-7 years in data engineering or a related role. * Deep knowledge of SQL and relational databases. * Strong Python development skills. * Hands-on experience with GCP tools like BigQuery, Dataflow, Composer, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Storage. * Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT, and data architecture. * Agile development and version control (e.g., Git) experience. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. *Preferred Experience:* * Exposure to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Oracle ERP data structures. * Familiarity with data visualization tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI). * Experience with additional programming languages or frameworks. *Team & Culture:* You'll be joining a growing team of 12+ data engineers, with opportunities to lead and shape the team's direction.
