Job Description:

The Vice President of Operational Excellence (VP, OpEx) will be the steward of a unified operational framework across Ryan Companies' vertically integrated platform-Development, Architecture + Engineering, Construction, and Real Estate Management. This visionary leader will champion a client centric, process-integrated workflow that aligns strategy with execution, fosters enterprise-wide collaboration, and elevates Ryan's ability to deliver exceptional value from pursuit thru closeout of every project.

The VP, OpEx plays a critical role in shaping the future of Ryan's business by anchoring operational practices to our long-term strategic vision-R30-and reinforcing our identity as a trusted real estate solutions partner. The candidate will have the ability to define their role more fully based on the change opportunities that are identified.

Some things you can expect to do:

  • Lead initiative prioritization that focus team resources on high-value, mission-aligned opportunities while reducing inefficiencies from low-margin or misaligned pursuits.

  • Equip teams with data, tools, and business intelligence to make disciplined, confident decisions.

  • Build processes and standards to drive best-practice, high-performance behaviors and provide clear documentation and support through every lifecycle step.

  • Make data-driven decisions; document and monitor business processes, business rules, metrics and standard operating procedures as a result of improvement initiatives.

  • Identify operational pain points and design scalable, tech-enabled solutions that increase team accountability, reduce risk, and drive efficiency.

  • Engage external technology partners to develop an improvement roadmap for each of Ryan's major tech platforms; Procore, Autodesk, Microsoft, Bridgit, etc.

  • Lead structured process improvement across Ryan to deliver efficiency and benefit to internal business leaders. Challenge stakeholders to maximize improvement opportunities.

  • Break down regional and functional silos by enabling sector-specialized teams to collaborate effectively across regions and service lines.

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 10+ years of experience in real estate development, construction, or A/E environments.

  • Proven success leading enterprise transformation and integrating cross-functional teams.

  • Deep understanding of project delivery models, client engagement strategy, and continuous improvement methodology.

  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement high-impact tools, scorecards, or metrics that align execution with strategy.

You will really stand out if you:

  • Hold an advanced degree (MBA, MS Engineering, or equivalent)

Eligibility:

  • Positions require verification of employment eligibility to work in the U.S.

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is 185,000- 250,000. The base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills and abilities.

Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission and/or an incentive program.
