Essential Job Duties |
Seeking a detail-oriented individual with strong Arabic language skills and an interest in archives, library science, or cultural heritage. This role supports the care, processing, and description of Arabic-language archival materials.
On-the-job training will be provided by the lead archivist.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process archival collections: receive, sort, and organize materials (documents, photographs, etc.)
- Enter and format data in databases and finding aids
- Create container lists and update descriptive records
- Prepare materials for digitization; perform scanning, editing, and metadata creation
- Follow archival standards (e.g., DACS) for arrangement and description
- Rehouse materials and label folders/containers accurately
- Assist with finding aid development and basic researcher support
