- Responsible for the planning, layout, setup, operating, and making tool adjustments for a variety of major conventional or automatic machines.
- Works from blueprints, process sheets, and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions.
- Checks, inspects, and builds machining operations against specified tolerances.
- May include work with fabrication, sheet metal operations, or machine hardware and assemblies.
- May also make recommendations concerning the use of and improvement upon materials and design.
- Highly developed support for individual contributors.
- Makes recommendations for solutions.
- Works on assignments requiring judgment and initiative.
- Works autonomously.
- May act as a mentor to lower-level peers and guide tasks.
- Communicates with contacts typically within and outside the department on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring explanation or interpretation to understand and reach an agreement.
- Work is structured within identified boundaries and procedures.
- May work on assignments requiring judgment and initiative.

- Create slip/sliding fits using the provided precision dowel pins
- Use of Deltronic Pins for measuring
- Assemble and disassemble mounting components
- Utilize tools such as a vacuum to eliminate FOD while drilling and reaming
- Perform jobs from start to finish following drawings
- Cultivates a culture that assures effective cross-functional teamwork
- Performs job duties in a manner that complies with environmental, health, and safety regulations, policies, and procedures

Required Skills:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 4 years of experience with the set-up and operation of 3-axis milling Machines using Acu-Rite controls for programming.
- Minimum 4 years of experience with the use of a manual lathe.
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a Manual Machinist with High tolerance precision machining
Preferred Skills:
- Associate Degree
- Lapping Experience
- Optical Handling Experience
- Space/Aerospace experience
- Computer Literacy - Microsoft Office product (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Pinning
- Ability to drill and ream pilot hole to tight tolerances (.0001" to .0003") using portable drill set-up
- Ability to align and indicate drill tooling into position
- Able to clean, deburr, and polish mounting surfaces
- Willingness to support other Manufacturing (non-machine shop) needs as well.

- Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check and a drug screen.

- Work split shift with occasional weekend & on-call support availability.
