We have an opening for a Specialist, Business Development.

The Specialist, Business Development supports the business development and marketing efforts for Paul Hastings' litigation practices, as well as works closely with attorneys and business development team members on a variety of profile-raising initiatives, including pitches, awards and directory submissions, events, research and marketing materials.

In this capacity, the Specialist, Business Development will:

  • Work with attorneys and business development team members to draft and produce high-quality pitches, proposals and RFP responses;
  • Develop and maintain marketing materials, including practice descriptions, web content, attorney bios and experience lists;
  • Manage sponsorships and partnerships, ensuring the firm maximizes benefits and return on investment;
  • Conduct research on clients, prospects and competitors to support meetings and cross-selling opportunities;
  • Coordinate submissions for legal directories, awards and rankings relevant to the firm's litigation practices;
  • Collaborate with the events team and attorneys to plan and execute client events, seminars and webinars;
  • Work with the marketing and communications teams on media relations, editorial projects, design and digital marketing initiatives;
  • Build knowledge of litigation practice areas to effectively support marketing strategies; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Proficiencies:

  • Knowledge of technologies, developments, trends and literature related to legal and professional services marketing fields;
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite;
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills, including attention to detail and proofreading;
  • Solid understanding of the needs and expectations of law firm operations and corporate legal clients in order to function at a strategic level;
  • Knowledge of marketing principles, procedures, concepts and practical applications;
  • Fundamental knowledge of networking and relationship management;
  • Proficiency in team building, management and leadership skills; and
  • Fundamental knowledge of legal concepts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in marketing, law or business (required);
  • At least 5 years of marketing professional experience (required); and
  • Experience supporting Litigation group (preferred).

The salary wage range that we expect to pay for this position is a minimum of $90,200 and a maximum of $115,200 annually. The actual pay wage may vary based on experience or other relevant factors.
