What's new with Aptar
Our fast-growing, technologically-driven manufacturing company is seeking a Process Technician.
- Setup, adjust and troubleshoot all injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
- Perform mold changes including mechanical, water, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical connections.
- Set processing parameters for each mold/machine and update as necessary.
- Document process parameters by filling out and updating the SAR form as needed.
- Set up part containment for all molds as needed.
- Update all mold maps whenever changing cavitation including providing information as to the reasons for blocking cavities.
- Maintain clean and safe work cells at all times - especially immediately following the startup and/or processing of molds.
- Communicate any changes in machine status to the operators, engineers, inspectors, and supervisors as necessary.
- Work with the Process Engineer to establish and maintain process control limits.
- Perform daily housekeeping to provide a clean and safe work environment.
- Working Knowledge of SQF and GMP procedures.
- Communicate respectfully and effectively to all members of the Aptar team - especially when using the radio.
- Respond to all radio inquiries in a timely manner.
- Be flexible to company needs regarding productivity on a daily basis.
- Periodically cover time off for other technicians as required.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects as directed.
- Perform kaizen events regularly in support of company improvement goals and objectives.
- Ability to work unsupervised at times
- Ability to run some machines to cover breaks for operators when necessary
- Requires 2+ years of work experience and knowledge of plastic and plastic processing
- Requires extensive knowledge of how an injection molding machine works.
- Understand and have some knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and electronics.
- High School diploma at a minimum
- Has the ability to take direction and criticism in a constructive manner.
- Positive, can-do attitude
- Ability to distinguish color and pass the EnChroma test for the color blind
Skills/Abilities
- Intermediate to advanced level skills with Microsoft Office software and Windows Operating system.
- Able to work with minimal supervision.
- Able to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively process concepts and changes across all teams.
- Knowledge of injection molding and assembly processes.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for duration of a 12-hour shift; and will be required to walk regularly while using hands to handle material and equipment including reaching and bending with hands arms, legs and feet.
- All employees must be physically able to have/ demonstrate full use and range of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal and hearing abilities.
- Employees must have the ability to lift and/ or move up to 50 pounds.
- Fundamental understanding of quality philosophies, principles, systems, methods, tools, and standards.
- Knowledge of SPC
- Knowledge of packaging applications (closures, bottles, & tubes).
- Able to plan, control and assure product and process quality in accordance with quality principles, which include planning processes, material control, acceptance sampling and measurement systems.
- Knowledge of the Food and Beverage industry is a plus
