Application Window Open date: July 23, 2025 Next review date: Friday, Aug 22, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Friday, Aug 22, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description CLA Earth, Planetary, and Space Sciences (EPSS) seeks applications for a temporary lecturer position in the area of Geology for the 2025-26 academic year. Responsibilities will include lecturing, designing and developing laboratory exercises, conducting regularly scheduled office hours, writing and grading exams and problem sets, and training and supervising teaching assistants for a course in the evolution and extinction of dinosaurs. This course is a general education introductory course, which will provide a basic understanding and exploration of plate tectonics, dinosaur biology, evolution, and extinction. Lab sections with demonstrations accompany lectures. Qualified candidates will have a Ph.D. in Geology or equivalent discipline. Experience in teaching and/or practicing Geology with a field component at the college level is required. Experience in teaching general education courses similar to those offered by EPSS are strongly preferred.
