Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Check off trucks when they are delivered, performing receipts, labeling, marking product, filing paperwork, filling out logs and BOL's. Coordinating with dock personnel and production to ensure delivery or needed product. Send out carts to correct tool crib locations and notify the requested personnel of any non-stock indirect deliveries.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for 5S
- Complete BOL's either by using an RF scanner or filling out a Manual BOL
- Greet drivers at the drivers gate and check paperwork to verify delivery location
- Communicate to dock drivers of trailers that need a dock door to be off-loaded
- Communicate to dock drivers if they are reloading
- Mark deliveries that are staged on the dock promptly
- Move indirect items into Office area (if available) at end of shift if not received
- Mark product if there are any discrepancies or quality issues
- Communicate to the Personnel that ordered the item(s) when product arrives
- Get counts on empty returnable totes that are shipped out LTL
- Complete Vendor Sample Log
- Check off and scan in trucks
- Update board with truck/trailer/dock info
- Any other duties assigned by team leader, supervisor or manager
Requirements
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND ABILITIES:
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent verbal & written communications skills
- Self-starter
- Ability to multitask
- Organizational skills
- Previous office experience preferred
- Capable of learning various software
- High School Diploma
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Stamina & Mobility: Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods, especially in fast-paced environments.
- Manual Dexterity: Skilled in handling paperwork, office tools, packing, and sorting materials.
- Lifting & Movement: Must lift/move materials (typically 20-40 lbs), bend, reach, and assist with organizing or shipping tasks.
- Visual Acuity: Ability to read small print, inspect items for defects, and ensure accuracy in inventory and shipments.
- Safety Awareness: Follow safety protocols, use PPE (e.g., gloves, glasses), and operate safely around machinery or hazardous environments.
- Industrial Comfort: Work in noisy, hot, cold, or dusty areas while wearing appropriate protective gear.
MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Organization & Attention to Detail: Track inventory, maintain accurate records, and detect discrepancies.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in data entry, Excel, and inventory systems (e.g., ERP software).
- Problem-Solving: Resolve inventory issues, shipment errors, or production delays proactively.
- Communication: Clearly relay updates to team members, supervisors, and vendors.
- Time Management: Prioritize tasks to meet production and shipping deadlines efficiently.
- Math & Analysis: Perform basic math to calculate inventory and analyze trends for forecasting.
- Adaptability: Respond flexibly to changes in schedules, inventory, or shipments.
- Customer Service: Maintain professionalism when interacting with suppliers or customers.
- Compliance: Ensure documentation accuracy and adherence to company or industry standards.
