Technical Specialist Iin GAC Savannah Unique Skills: DUTIES: Design responsibilities primarily involve the design and development of new and/or derivative versions of interior furnishings and amenities as part of outfitting new, custom, and in-service aircraft. Assist with the planning, coordination, performance of design, analysis, and liaison engineering supporting the development and production of products and services. Contribute to planning, developing, and coordinating of important engineering projects. Provide specialized technical assistance to team members. Use advanced techniques and modified extension of theories to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Determine and develop own approach to solutions within schedule and cost objectives. Act as a liaison with representatives outside of assigned group/area. Actively work to improve daily processes and ensure all work meets customer requirements. Select appropriate methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to resolve complex engineering issues. Be consulted extensively by associates and others as a recognized authority within the field. Anticipate and resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways, developing standards and guides for diverse engineering activities. Approach problem solving to balance technical product, cost, and schedule. Act independently to determine improved methods to optimize technical product, cost, and schedule requirements. Work without appreciable direction, having work reviewed from a long-range perspective for desired results. Exercise latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments. Make decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative. Maintain a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company products. Perform other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field required. Ten years of experience in job offered or related engineering position required, including any experience with: system-level wire diagram, harness, and schematic design for aircraft; electrical system integration related to aircraft avionics, lighting, and audio/video entertainment systems; 2-D electrical design software tools Capital Harness (CHS/XC) and AutoCAD; completing system-level Electrical Load Analysis (ELA); developing or deciphering technical and test specifications; 14 CFR 25 Subpart H - EWIS based design; CATIA V5 and SmarTeam; and employing design standards consistent with company standards and accepted design methods as directed to meet manufacturing, quality, and schedule requirements. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field and ten years of experience, Employer will accept a Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field and eight years of experience or a Ph.D. in Electronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field and six years of experience. Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 5 ys in specific technical discipline or 10 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors. Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters, 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job.
