The Director, Engineering is responsible for overseeing the design, architecture, and delivery of high-quality software solutions. The scope of this job includes leading a team of engineers and technical experts, driving both technical and operational success, and fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire multiple engineering teams by fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
  • Work with senior leadership to define the long-term technical vision and roadmap and align engineering objectives with company-wide goals by ensuring the teams' work directly contributes to business success.
  • Influence business leaders on key initiatives and projects, create strategic proposals to gain approval for execution, and oversee execution of major technical initiatives to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
  • Collaborate with solution management, design, and other departments to align on goals, solution features, and timelines to deliver cohesive and scalable solutions.
  • Identify and mitigate risks in both technical and operational areas, and ensure that engineering teams are prepared for unforeseen challenges and have the necessary support to overcome obstacles.
  • Act as a key point of contact between the engineering teams and executive leadership by communicating project status, risks, and successes, and providing insights into technical decisions and their potential business impact.
  • Provide direction to engineering managers and senior engineers to support their growth and drive team performance.
  • LeverageAItools and platforms as an integral part of daily responsibilities to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows, and drive data-informed outcomes.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • At least 8-10 years relevant work experience
  • At least 4-5 years relevant management work experience
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight to Agile Scrum teams, ensuring alignment with business goals, effective sprint execution, and continuous delivery of high-impact solutions
  • Guide cloud architecture decisions and implementation strategies across platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP leveraging deep technical knowledge to support scalable and secure enterprise solutions
  • Oversee the design and evolution of .NET/C# application frameworks, offering technical direction and mentorship to engineering teams to ensure adherence to best practices and maintainability
  • Hands-on experience in integrations, specifically with integration engines such as Mirth and Rhapsody, managing vendor relationships and driving interoperability initiatives

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Healthcare clinical domain expertise is a plus
  • Experience working with healthcare standards like HL7, FHIR

Job Expectations:

  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed
  • Must work in accordance with applicable security policies and procedures to safeguard company and client information
  • Must be able to sit and view a computer screen for extended periods of time
