Physician, Oncology and Survivorship Clinical Care

Color Health
United States
Sep 20, 2025
Color Health is revolutionizing cancer care with the nation's first Virtual Cancer Clinic, delivering high-quality, physician-led multidisciplinary care across all 50 states. Our innovative, guideline-based approach spans the full continuum of care- cancer screening, risk assessment, prevention, diagnosis, treatment support, and survivorship. We combine personalized medical care with services such as genetic risk assessment, nutrition counseling, mental health support, and at-home cancer screening. By partnering with employers, unions, health plans, and governments, Color is closing critical care gaps, improving outcomes, and guiding patients with empathy through their healthcare journeys.
In June 2023, Color partnered with the American Cancer Society (ACS) to launch a cancer screening and prevention program for employers and labor organizations, combining the ACS's expertise in cancer screening, prevention, and risk reduction with Color's leadership in population-scale healthcare delivery. The program has since expanded to include diagnosis management, active treatment support, and survivorship. Through our Virtual Cancer Clinic, Color helps people detect cancer earlier, navigate diagnosis with speed and compassion, support survivors through complex clinical and return-to-work needs, and monitor late effects with a focus on closing the gaps in cancer care.
We are seeking an experienced Medical Oncologist to join our Virtual Cancer Clinic care team in a part-time or full-time capacity. In this role, you will help build and grow our cancer diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship services. Care is delivered remotely through telehealth (video, audio, and messaging). The ideal candidate is passionate about reducing the impact of cancer, comfortable using telehealth technology, open to innovation, and committed to providing high-quality, empathetic care.

How You'll Contribute:

  • Ensure warm hand-off to high-quality brick and mortar cancer care teams.
  • Deliver guideline-based treatment recommendations to patients and members of the brick-and-mortar cancer care teams at diagnosis and other critical decision points.
  • During active cancer treatment: Collaborate with the Color team and the patient's brick-and-mortar care teams to:
  • Support care delivery and treatment management.
  • Evaluate, monitor, and manage symptoms and side effects, including prescribing medications and ordering diagnostic evaluations as appropriate in a virtual setting.
  • Order referrals to virtual or local supportive services such as nutrition, behavioral health, and financial counseling.
  • Facilitate goals-of-care and end-of-life discussions when relevant.
  • Work with oncology nurses to manage treatment-related symptoms and complications.
  • After active cancer treatment: Partner with the Color's Multidisciplinary Survivorship Center of Excellence team and the patient's brick and mortar care teams to:
  • Deliver guidelines-based cancer surveillance and screening as relevant.
  • Manage Long-term effects and complications of cancer and cancer treatment.
  • Provide risk reduction treatments and interventions.
  • Assist with return to work accommodation and expectation setting.
  • Facilitate communication and appropriate follow-up with all brick-and-mortar clinicians.
  • Program development and team collaboration:
  • Help build and grow the Virtual Cancer Clinic, maximizing its value and impact nationwide.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical protocols and best practices in collaboration with Color primary care providers, oncologists, nurses, care advocates, and genetic counselors.
  • Participate in care team sessions to review patient progress and coordinate targeted support plans.
  • Maintain thorough, accurate documentation of all patient encounters.
  • Provide compassionate, empathetic care that builds trust-based relationships with patients and their families.
  • You will not order or deliver intravenous anti-cancer treatment or perform procedures. Care will be delivered remotely through video, audio, and asynchronous messaging.
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • MD or DO fellowship-trained and board-certified in Medical Oncology
  • Valid state medical license in good standing and willingness to be licensed in all 50 states.
  • Minimum 2 years of independent oncology-related clinical practice after fellowship
  • Expertise in cancer survivorship care.
  • Friendly, compassionate web-side manner and a passion for helping patients thrive and live healthy and full lives.
  • Understand and are motivated to address the many gaps in cancer-aware care faced by patients with cancer, and their care-givers before, during and after treatment.
  • Strong clinical skills and a high bar for evidence-based, patient-centric, high-quality clinical care.
  • Team-focused, effective collaborator.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, with a focus on empathy and active listening.
