Project Engineer, Controls (Level 2)
Location: Fort Collins, CO
Full-Time | Travel: Up to 25% (Domestic & International)
Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 annually (based on experience)
Field Rate: $65.00/hour
Annual Performance Bonus Eligible

What You'll Do
  • Lead project engineering from estimation and BOMs to mechanical/electrical design, documentation, and customer support
  • Translate customer needs into control systems using PLCs, HMIs, GAP/Function Block, and other automation technologies
  • Commission and service critical power and marine systems globally with precision and accountability
  • Support sales and service teams with technical expertise and documentation
  • Create technical drawings (AutoCAD, SolidWorks), wiring diagrams, manuals, and field support guides
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines, keeping tasks aligned with structured execution standards
  • Build detailed proposals, specs, and SOPs while leveraging internal platforms like TRAX, SalesLogix, and GCS Web Apps
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent plus 3 years of relevant experience, or 10+ years in marine/power systems or industrial automation
  • Deep knowledge of automation control systems (Woodward, GAP, Function Block, PLCs, HMIs, etc.)
  • Advanced skills in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office
  • Experience commissioning control systems in global environments under dynamic conditions
  • Technical fluency in English and Spanish preferred
  • A methodical, disciplined mindset that thrives on digging into the details and delivering results
  • High mental stamina and the ability to push projects forward in the face of constant demands, complexity, and change
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and passport
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%
