GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Supervisor, Finance Systems (Lab) oversees a team responsible for tasks essential to the finance department. The team's goal is to minimize downtime of finance systems, which will reduce the negative impact on revenue/cash collections, inventory management, and financial/ analysis reporting. This position reports to Manager, Finance Systems (Lab). This position is responsible for the guidance, prioritization, and leadership of the Finance System Administrators. This will include project management, coaching, training, organizing, and planning. This position also provides administrative support, facilitation, and meeting preparation for process and product-related meetings. They will ensure that team goals are met and establish new goals and motivators. This position ensures the team's quality of work and continued improvement. This position should understand internal customer business model, major objectives, projects, challenges, current issues and industry trends.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Lead and manage projects, processes, procedures, and policy development, maintenance, and compliance of the applications to ensure efficient operations including, but not limited to:

  • Coordinate and manage System Team's Projects for the application business owners and IT maintenance of the systems.
  • Provide investigation and responses to Billing / Revenue and IT audits
  • Knows what resources are needed to resolve issues and assigns work accordingly.
  • Communicates changes and may provide training to impacted groups/individuals
  • Presents product-related data to peers and members of senior leadership

2. Provide leadership to direct reports:

  • Help direct reports overcome an organizational obstacle met.
  • Know, understand, implement, follow, and communicate to teammates DaVita employment policies and procedures, awards, and other opportunities within the company and foster a positive work environment.
  • Facilitate teammate development (performance reviews, coaching, mentoring, DaVita training, outside training), collaborate with direct reports to create professional development goals

3. Oversee the daily operations of the Finance System Administrator's activities including, but not limited to:

  • Verify jobs / process completions and report any issues to appropriate IT team and / or vendor. Work with teams to resolve issues for EDI, UNIX, Citrix, ORACLE Databases, MSSQL Databases, and Data Warehouse.
  • Prioritize change for developments, track development progress, relay business requirements, provide specs for changes, and review program code as needed.
  • Develop and maintain tables, views, and stored procedures on production and non-production servers.
  • Design business intelligence framework models for data warehousing
  • Develop and Test payer rules applied to the application to ensure proper billing per Payer Contract, Government Regulation, and Internal Business decisions
  • Monitor System Performance and Data Exchanges daily to ensure data Integrity and accuracy

4. Works as a liaison between the software vendors and DaVita's business owners and IT including but not limited to

  • Writing Vendor Specs for DaVita requested enhancements
  • Review Work Orders
  • Coordinate service pack and version releases into testing environments and production
  • Coordinate DaVita DBAs, Network and System Administrators resources with Vendor as needed

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 4-6 years experience required
  • Bachelor's degree in related are required OR a combination of education and progressively responsible work experience in a related area may be substituted in lieu of a degree on a year-for-year basis - required
  • 5-10 years of system administration and troubleshooting experience - required
  • 2-3 years of supervisor or management experience - preferred
  • Experience working with finance systems - required
  • Extensive knowledge in SQL/Oracle querying, report writing, and data warehousing - required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, Excel, Word and PowerPoint - required
