Job Description

Document Control Specialist Summary:

The Document Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining and improving the company's existing document control system in support of Company policy, as well as ISO-9001, AS-9100, and NADCAP certifications. Compilation of data, generation of reports, updating of databases, and working closely with internal and external groups to meet strategic objectives is also required.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work safely. Adhere to all company and regulatory EH&S policies and procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with all Company 6-S policy and procedure.
  • Maintain and enhance Work Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and other documents as necessary to meet changing manufacturing and customer demands.
  • Create and/or revise documents, work instructions, training modules, etc. to a standard format and content.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of documentation through verification audits, job audits, and make changes as required to meet objectives.
  • Assist with the oversight of employee training records.
  • Participate in the specification review process, including reviewing current standards, resources, and communication for customer acceptance.
  • Partners with Manufacturing, Commercial and Technical departments to deliver professional, accurate documents as necessary.
  • Participates in or leads Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Plans and participates in Quality Audits as required.
  • Assists in the execution of Cannon-Muskegon's Quality Management System.
  • Partner with Department Managers / Supervisors to update company documents and train on how to use company databases and systems.
  • Partner with groups and other departments to meet company goals and objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and experience - Required

  • Two-year Technical Degree, or in lieu of a degree, High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent with two to five (2-5) years of experience in a Quality Assurance, Training, or Auditing role in a manufacturing environment.

Skills/Competencies

  • High degree of computer proficiency (MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.).

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)). To be qualified to work in this facility, a successful applicant must be a U.S. Person, as defined in those regulations, and able to supply evidence of that qualification prior to starting work or be authorized to receive controlled information under a specific license or permission from the relevant government agency.
