Description

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Intelligence Analyst to work on our Analyst team. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls facility with every other Friday off.

Perform comprehensive all-source intelligence analysis of cyber threats targeting foreign and domestic systems utilized in industry, military platforms, and various critical infrastructures. Leverage both classified intelligence and open-source information to develop products detailing cyber threats to industrial control systems and operational technology, as well as the vulnerabilities adversaries may seek to exploit in these control systems. Partner with USG Intelligence Community organizations to fuse multiple intelligence disciplines with technical information. Collaborate with teams comprised of analysts, engineers, and cyber researchers to present findings and assessments to senior leaders, decision-makers, and Idaho National Laboratory customers.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop written analysis reports, briefings, white papers, and strategy documents that help inform US Government agencies, public utilities, military commands, and others with decision making responsibilities for protecting critical infrastructure.
  • Blend technical expertise with threat analysis to counter cyberattacks targeting industrial control systems (ICS) within critical infrastructure. Conduct cutting edge technical analysis of cyber threats against the industrial control systems infrastructure, e.g., electrical grid, oil & gas pipelines, nuclear energy facilities, military installations, and transportation networks.
  • Collaborate with engineers, cyber researchers, and other analysts, to generate clear and concise reports (often classified), briefings, white papers and strategies related to threats to industrial control systems and critical infrastructure.
  • Work as part of collaborative teams usually comprised of one or more other analysts, control systems subject matter experts, power engineers, and cyber researchers to execute a mix of both short- and long-term technical projects.
  • Support national security initiatives that strengthen the security and resilience of critical infrastructure against cyberattacks. Inform high levels of the US Government concerning issues involving critical infrastructure and cyber and control systems security.
  • Extract project requirements and information from unstructured and sometimes unclear and unrelated sources, and piece those together to form expert opinions concerning the capabilities of cyber adversaries. Distill complex technical information into concise written reports and briefings for non-technical audiences.
  • Maintain a strategic perspective of the threat landscape while remaining able to analyze evolving cyber threats targeting the operational technology environment.
  • Monitor a wide variety of data sources to maintain awareness of newly discovered vulnerabilities within control systems, the ability to exploit those vulnerabilities via cyber means, and the subsequent potential impact to critical infrastructure.
  • Other duties as assigned.
