Mechanical Technician

STS Technical Services is hiring Mechanical Technicians in Warren, Michigan.

As a Mechanical Technician, you'll play a hands-on role supporting engineers in the design, testing, modification, and repair of machinery, equipment, and consumer products. You'll help turn ideas into working prototypes and ensure every project is built with precision and integrity.

• Modify, test, and repair machinery and equipment based on engineering direction
  
• Prepare part sketches and create work orders and purchase requests for outside contractors
  
• Draft detailed drawings or sketches to support fabrication by internal or external shops
  
• Interpret blueprints and project instructions to identify test specifications, procedures, and technical objectives
  
• Plan fabrication, assembly, and testing based on specifications
  
• Collaborate with engineering staff on design improvements and method adjustments
  
• Inspect drawings and line work for clarity and accuracy, coordinating corrections when needed
  
• Evaluate tool designs using measurement techniques and engineering judgment
  

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
  
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration abilities
  
• Detail-oriented team player with a proactive mindset
  
• Ability to create sketches, engineering drawings, and perform standard computations
  
• Understanding of engineering science, technology, and practical application
  
• Experience using engineering software and computer-aided design tools
  

• Associate's degree in Engineering Technology or a related field (required)
  
• 2-4 years of mechanical technician experience (required)
