Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner - Sage Ridge AllHealth Network is seeking a qualified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with a focus on withdrawal management to join our Sage Ridge team. Job Description: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner - Withdrawal Management Provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment for individuals with substance use disorders, including those experiencing co-occurring mental health conditions. Administer medication-assisted therapy and manage psychopharmacological services directly to clients, as well as serve as a consultant to clinical staff. Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating a range of psychiatric conditions, such as mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and trauma-related disorders. Deliver care to clients in both acute withdrawal management and longer-term residential treatment settings. In addition, lead process improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies, engaging stakeholders from frontline staff to directors.
- Provide competent, evidence-based, quality psychiatric care to clients.
- Provide psychiatric assessment/evaluation to clients within 24 hours of their admission to Sage Ridge.
- Establish contact with clients' Primary Care Physicians/Primary psychiatric provider as indicated.
- Make appropriate recommendations for ongoing care at discharge.
- Provide consultation and coordination to clinical staff and nurses regarding the diagnosis and treatment of clients.
- Ensure initial psychiatric assessments and follow-ups are completed and documented within established timelines.
- Work closely and collaborate with colleagues, care providers, and community resources to provide internal and external care coordination services to effectively manage the health care needs of clients and ensure seamless integration of complex services.
- Provide interventions and documentation to meet regulatory standards and/or contractual requirements within their scope of practice.
- Actively participates and contributes within a team-based model to ensure integration of services and promote improved client outcomes.
- Provide daily follow-up medication appointments to clients in acute withdrawal management and ongoing evaluations and monitoring of medication effectiveness, side effects, or adverse reactions to residential clients.
- Attend daily clinical rounds, lead team decision making and participate with inter-disciplinary treatment team to review medical necessity of care, discuss treatment recommendations, and discharge plan
- Write all orders for withdrawal protocol and prescribed medications as indicated, which may include bridging of medical medications as appropriate.
- Address general, low level medical concerns through assessment with initiation of first line medical treatment plans.
- Collaborate when necessary, with partner medical facilities, outpatient providers and insurance companies to provide appropriate continuity of care
- Maintain current knowledge of psychopharmacology including medication interaction through ongoing collaboration, continuing education, and consultation.
- Complete all required paperwork accurately, legibly, and within established timeframes, and to accepted standards of practice.
- Ensure the Diagnosis is updated and consistent with the psychiatric evaluation for each client.
- Appropriately intervene when crisis occurs in collaboration with team, which may include transfer to a different facility.
- Understand and follow policies and procedures regarding the use of medications, grievance information and client rights.
- Follow all AllHealth Network policies and procedures.
- Complete all required trainings as listed in Relias Learning (both online training and face-to-face training) within required timelines.
- On-call hours are required on a rotating schedule with other campus medical providers.
- Serve as an on-call Behavioral Health Medical Provider at least 4 times per month.
- Perform other duties as required within the scope of the position and the experience, education and ability of the employee, as assigned by Medical Director.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree (MSN/MS)
- Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) or Master of Clinical Health Services (MCHS).
- For NPs, Licensed in the State of Colorado as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (APN)
- Unrestricted DEA
- AllHealth Network does not employ former or current clients or family members of clients receiving treatment at any AllHealth Network facilities.
- Preferred: at least two years post-master's direct clinical experience with substance use disorder treatment
- Must have experience working with psychiatric medications with both acute and chronically mentally ill clients and comorbid medical conditions.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Open to Family Medicine NP or Internal Medicine NP who have withdrawal management experience
- Demonstrated interpersonal and clinical leadership skills.
- Decision making ability, organizational skills and effective communication skills.
- Medical expertise, ability to establish effective consulting relationships and function collaboratively in multiple systems.
- Must be able to collaborate with professionals within the medical field, mental health providers and external agencies
Shift/Location: Full-time Watkins, CO Pay Rate: $130,000 - $138,000 The base salary range represents the low and high end of the AllHealth Network salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, merit, and the ability to embody the AllHealth Network mission and values. The range listed is just one component of AllHealth Networks' total compensation package for employees.
