DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Corrections Community Center Monitor, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety and security of the CCC. You will be responsible for monitoring reentrant behavior through various means, such as one-on-one and group interactions, as well as through the use of closed-circuit television systems. Additionally, you will be responsible for conducting orientation sessions for new reentrants, monitoring reentrant community destination checks, conducting breathalyzer and urinalysis tests, and documenting telephone usage. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to establish positive relationships with reentrants to support their successful release back into the community. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Community Corrections Centers are staffed by 3 work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $41,081.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to work in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
- You must have the ability to work different shifts or irregular scheduled hours.
- You must successfully complete classroom training at the DOC Training Academy in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Two (2) years of experience performing public safety or security work. (Examples of qualifying experience include but are not limited to public safety or security work involving protection of persons and/or property and maintaining required security through enforcement of rules, regulations, and laws; public safety or security work in a correctional setting, juvenile, or adult development/detention center, law enforcement entity, or military security experience)
- One (1) year of work experience providing direction/guidance to individuals. (Examples of qualifying work experience include but are not limited to performing as a lead worker or supervisor assigning and evaluating work tasks, providing informal counseling, or giving orders in the Military)
Legal Requirement:
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
