Visiting Assistant Professor - College of Law

West Virginia University College of Law invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Law to teach during the 2025-2026 academic year. Our curricular needs include teaching Legal Analysis, Research and Writing during both the fall and spring semesters. Candidates must be available to teach in-person.

This position is a nine-month visiting position, beginning in the Fall of 2025. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching four courses: two sections of Legal Analysis, Research and Writing during the fall semester and two sections during the spring semester.

Required Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Law school teaching experience
• Law practice experience
• Judicial clerkship

Alternatively, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential job functions.
