Job Title: Scientist 2 - Polymer Scientist Location: Research Triangle Park, NC Duration: 12 months Work Hours: 1st Shift, 8 hrs/day; 40 hrs/week, Onsite 8 AM - 5 PM Interview Process: 1 Teams Interview (45 minutes) 1 Onsite Interview (4+ hours) with presentation and team interviews Job Description: Overview: Seeking a hands-on Polymer Scientist to support R\&D of innovative medical device technologies, focusing on biomaterials and formulations such as hydrogels, coatings, and resorbable polymers. The role involves lab-based work, material characterization, and functional testing under the guidance of an R\&D Manager. Responsibilities: Develop and characterize biomaterial formulations for medical applications Conduct experiments and analyze data using lab instrumentation (e.g., rheometer, Instron, DSC, GPC) Support material functionalization, in-vitro/in-vivo testing, and prototype evaluation Collaborate across scientific teams and document technical results Must Haves: Hands-on lab experience with polymers, biomaterials, or formulations Experience with material characterization tools (rheometer, Instron, spectroscopic methods, etc.) Ability to design, execute, and document scientific experiments Strong written and verbal communication skills Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree required Ph.D. preferred Fields: Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Textile Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, or related discipline Research experience (during or after graduate school) required
