Montefiore Medical Center is proud to announce the upcoming launch of a new acute inpatient psychiatric facility dedicated to providing high-quality, short-term psychiatric care for children and adolescents. This specialized unit will enhance access to timely, developmentally appropriate mental health services, offering a safe, structured, and compassionate environment to support patients in crisis and help stabilize their condition. As part of our efforts to build a strong, multidisciplinary team, we are currently seeking a Nurse Practitioner. The Nurse Practitioner adheres to the highest standards of nursing practice as outlined by the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice, and Nursing's Social Policy Statement. This role embodies the vision, mission, values, and performance measures of Montefiore Medical Center. The NP is responsible for medical assessment, management, and coordination of care for children and adolescents admitted to the inpatient behavioral health unit, ensuring their physical health needs are continuously monitored and addressed. In close collaboration with psychiatric providers, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members, the NP conducts routine physical exams, responds to medical concerns, arranges external consultations when necessary, and supports discharge planning from a medical perspective. Additionally, the NP plays a key role in unit-based performance improvement initiatives, education, and quality of care, maintaining excellence in pediatric medical management within a behavioral health environment.
