The Specialty Gas Supply Chain Manager will ensure best-in-class fulfillment of specialty gas cylinders in the South Division. This position is pivotal in supporting our mission to deliver an effortless experience to our internal and external customers through on-time order fulfillment of specialty gases. The Specialty Gas Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for supporting and coordinating all aspects of the specialty gas supply chain from order entry to end-customer delivery. The position requires an individual with a deep understanding of Airgas processes, systems, commitment to continuous improvement, and thrive in a high performance culture.

The Supply Chain Manager's primary responsibilities include:

  • Process Optimization & Collaboration

    • Collaborate with supply chain, production, and logistics teams to optimize processes and implement best practices.

    • Support the continuous improvement of Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) settings and other system-driven processes to enhance operational efficiency.

    • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with the SDIV's mission and priorities.

    • Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for Airgas plants and branches .

  • Customer Experience & User Solutions

    • Focus on solutions that improve customer experience as measured by CE score for orders late Ensure data solutions are user-friendly and enhance decision-making at all levels of the supply chain.

  • Data Accuracy & Integrity

    • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of supply chain data, including MRP settings in SAP and PPM, PNCS configurations.

    • Identify and resolve data discrepancies, collaborating with stakeholders to maintain high data standards.

    • Utilize tools in PNCS and SAP to ensure reorder points are optimized resulting in improved order fulfillment.

  • Reporting & Analysis

    • Use data to put in place best practices which result in material improvement of on time orders.

    • Provide actionable insights that align with the SDIV's priorities of operational efficiency, financial performance, and best in class customer service.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Good written and oral communications skills; ability to lead discussions, present ideas to audiences of all levels.

  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to translate data into actionable items

  • Good organizational and analytical skills.

  • Ability to understand complex business processes and suggest possible solutions

  • Computer literate with experience in the use of Microsoft Excel and Google Suite of Applications

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and quality.

  • Having SAP (or other ERP) functional experience is a plus

  • Good presentation skills

  • Leadership skills

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor degree in a Supply Chain, Business Administration, Science or related field or equivalent experiences

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

50% North American travel

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Intermediate Knowledge of Google Suite applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Mail)

COMMUNICATION and/or CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Ability to write routine business reports and business correspondence in English.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees and/or customers.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.
