This is a great opportunity to contribute to the Tax Department of the London Stock Exchange Group as a Senior Manager of US State and Local Income Tax!

Role Purpose: This is a US tax senior manager role, based in New York City (hybrid), reporting into the Americas Tax Leader. This position has tax compliance, reporting, planning and controversy responsibilities for US state and local income tax matters. This position would assist in the timely reporting, quality, and consistency of LSEG's state and local income taxes. It involves managing multiple projects and initiatives at once.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review complex unitary, combined and separate company state returns, extensions and estimated payments, working with outsourced provider. Coordinate payment request and filings. Collect apportionment information.

  • Must be comfortable with GL accounting, able to prepare journal entries, and reconcile tax accounts as needed.

  • Assist with preparation and/or review of complex state tax schedules related to the state tax provision process, including estimated quarterly state tax payments, effective tax rates, tax accruals, tax attributes, valuation allowances and payables account roll-forward balances on a quarterly and annual basis.

  • Assist with preparation and/or review of tax schedules measuring impact of state tax legislation, court cases, and rulings affecting current taxes and effective tax rates on a quarterly and annual basis.

  • Develop and implement ways to automate manual tasks using existing financial or tax systems and emerging technologies.

  • Respond to inquiries from state authorities and manage the state tax compliance notices tracker.

  • Respond to audit IDRs and manage the audit process. Collaborate and communicate with state tax auditors.

  • Maintain state and local income tax calendar

  • Research state tax issues

  • Assist with acquisitions and dispositions as necessary

  • Assist in the coordination and completion of other state tax compliance projects as assigned.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of seven years of corporate state tax and/or public accounting experience

  • B.S. in Accounting or Finance

  • Masters in taxation and/or CPA preferred

  • Advanced Excel skills required

  • ERP systems experience preferably with SAP, Oracle and/or HFM

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required

  • Strong organization and project management skills required

  • Must work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment

  • Effective interaction with other team members and external advisers is imperative.

Compensation/Benefits Information:

LSEG is committed to offering competitive Compensation and Benefits. The anticipated base salary for this position is $140,500 - $234,300. Please be aware base salary ranges may vary by geographic location, city and state. In addition to our offered base salary, this role is eligible for our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP/"bonus plan"). Target AIP rates will be commensurate with role level and posted career stage. Individual salary will be reflective of job related knowledge, skills and equivalent experience. LSEG roles (excluding internships and part-time roles of less than 20 hours per week) are typically eligible for inclusion in our LSEG Benefits program, which includes offerings of: Annual Wellness Allowance, Paid time-off, Medical, Dental, Vision, Flex Spending & Health Savings Options, Prescription Drug plan, 401(K) Savings Plan and Company match.
