Who we are looking for:

We are currently looking for a Maintenance Planner to be based out of Hobart, IN. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this person will be responsible for developing, scheduling, and maintaining all facility preventative and unplanned maintenance work orders in support of Atkore's Maintenance Excellence Strategy Initiative.

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years' manufacturing experience, specifically working in a maintenance capacity, with a CMMS background, Maintenance Connections preferred. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus.

What you'll do:



  • Coordinating with maintenance technicians to schedule and prioritize maintenance tasks.
  • Utilizing maintenance management software to record, track and analyze maintenance work.
  • Training maintenance staff in new procedures and protocols.
  • Implement the developed bill of material (BOM) into the CMMS system.
  • Maintain the technical library (blueprints, wiring diagrams, technical documents, and manufacturers' installation/service manuals), utilizing these to complete assigned projects.
  • Incorporate environmental, health, and safety requirements, to include lockout and tagout equipment information, into CMMS.
  • Develop and generate capital expenditure requests for engineering and maintenance projects.
  • Provide required administrative assistance, including generating purchase requisitions, tracking purchase orders, coordinating onsite activities with third-party contractors, generating reports, etc.
  • Ensure safety, delivery, quality, and cost metrics for the facility are being met.


What you'll bring:



  • HS Diploma/GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years' manufacturing experience, specifically working in a maintenance capacity, preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, CMMS (Maintenance Connection preferred).
  • Ability to develop and follow standard work processes, operate with a continuous improvement mindset, and effectively communicate across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrate and foster an environment that upholds the Atkore Core Values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect, and Excellence.


Within 3 months, you'll:



  • Complete your Atkore Immersion Program.
  • Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore's strategy.
  • Support 5S initiatives throughout the plant.


Within 6 months, you'll:



  • Align work priorities with Atkore's strategic direction and deliver practical business solutions.
  • Work in partnership with leadership team to identify preventative maintenance efficiency/improvement needs.
  • Provide maintenance & continuous improvement strategies to improve operations.


Within 12 months, you'll:



  • Serve as a mentor, creating and assigning work orders to hourly Maintenance team members to ensure accountability.
  • Inspire a culture of accountability and actively drive individuals toward desired maintenance excellence outcomes.
  • Develop processes to help the organization reduce maintenance delays, including building strategic working relationships throughout the organization.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $$72,880 - $100,210. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
