Temple University's Institutional Advancement Department is searching for an Assistant Director, Advancement Events!

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Advancement Events, the Assistant Director of Advancement Events will lead the management and execution of a comprehensive and strategic advancement events strategy to engage a variety of alumni audiences. Key engagement areas include athletics; signature alumni events (i.e. Homecoming and Temple Made Days); and alumni stewardship (i.e. awards). The incumbent will partner with and/or lead various cross-functional project teams to determine best tactics to achieve and potentially exceed engagement goals. In addition, he/she will serve as a resource to advancement engagement colleagues to support, coordinate and enhance their event-based volunteer cultivation and engagement efforts. He/she will work closely with a wide range of individuals and teams- both internal and external- to build/ maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders, and to ensure timely and effective execution of project deliverables.

Required Education and Experience:

*Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years of experience in alumni relations, special events, and/or higher education.

*Significant understanding of alumni engagement, donor relations and/or fundraising in a higher education environment.

*Demonstrated experience planning and executing successful event experiences for a variety of audiences, special consideration for experience planning complex, multi-faceted events.

*Strong project management experience, including creating/monitoring project schedules, deadlines and deliverables, and holding team members accountable.

*An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills and Abilities:

* Strong relationship management skills, including the ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships to maximize program effectiveness

* Ability to independently assess project challenges and obstacles, and to identify solutions based on knowledge and understanding of organization and stakeholders

* Ability to adapt and work effectively within a variety of situations and with a diverse group of individuals

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Proficiency in MS Office suite and fundraising databases

* Demonstrated ability to direct outside business partners and service providers/vendors

*Excellent organization skills and the ability to keep multiple projects moving forward simultaneously

*Comprehensive understanding of higher education issues, politics, and decision-making

*Results-oriented, facts-driven, with high energy and drive, a positive attitude, and excellent listening skills

This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.

Salary Range: $41,250 - $55,000

A variety of important factors are reviewed by HR when considering salary, including job duties, the applicant's education and experience, all relevant internal equity considerations, department budget, and funding source.
