A qualified Floor Attendant is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various types of material handling equipment to transport materials, products, and production supplies throughout the facility. This role involves performing repetitive tasks while strictly following posted instructions and all required documentation. The Floor Attendant must promptly report any equipment malfunctions or damage to products or facility equipment caused during forklift operations to their supervisor.

Essential Duties:

  • Operate various types of material handling equipment safely and efficiently

  • Transport materials, supplies, and work-in-process products to and from production and non-production areas throughout the facility

  • Retrieve and position reels from staging areas to assist with equipment setup at machines

  • Operate floor sweeping units to clean factory aisles

  • Use material handling equipment with dumpster attachments to collect and dispose of waste

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of staging areas, storage zones, waste disposal sites, and travel routes both inside and outside the facility

  • Perform daily equipment safety inspections and accurately complete inspection logs

  • Report any equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or damage to products/facility immediately to a supervisor

  • Attend forklift requalification training every three years or as required following incidents

  • Adapt to additional duties and responsibilities as business needs evolve
