The Systems Administrator is part of the Information Technology Solutions organization that supports UCR School of Medicine (SOM) and UCR Health. This role is a crucial and responsible for the stability, security, and efficiency of a hybrid IT infrastructure encompassing on-premises data centers and cloud environments. This role helps to ensure stability in the technical environment to help support the operations for UCR School of Medicine and UCR Health clinic locations. This individual will act as a subject matter expert, handling daily operations, maintenance, and complex troubleshooting across server OS (Windows/Linux), virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), hardware, storage, and applications. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for helping with modernizing infrastructure, planning technology evolution, and driving cloud adoption (AWS/Azure/GCP). The role requires strong technical proficiency, analytical and strategic thinking, and preferably, healthcare industry knowledge to navigate regulatory requirements like HIPAA. This position is for an experienced IT professional who is both a technical operator and a strategic contributor, vital to the organization's technological success and innovation. The incumbent will be key in helping drive the school's mission in improving access to health services in our local communities.
This position is classified as hybrid with 3 days on-site and 2 days remote. The full salary range for the System Administrator is $96,628.26 - $146,114.48 annually. However, the pay scale for this position is up to $111,900 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, UCR is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements. |
