JOB DESCRIPTION: SUMMARY OF POSITION This is a hybrid position providing crisis counseling to individuals effected by a natural disaster in their community. Under the administrative and clinical supervision of the Team Lead, Crisis Counseling Program-Tennessee Recovery Project, the Crisis Counselor is responsible for providing resource connection, short term supportive counseling, long term counseling referrals and coping advice for those individuals who are experiencing a mental health crisis related to a natural disaster area. This is a weekday and weekend position. This position is temporary. The role will serve the counties of Cheatham, Dickson, Davidson and Montgomery. Must be willing to travel to those counties as assigned. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES QUALIFICATIONS Education Level High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in a related field of Behavioral Science, Psychology, Social Work, or related field or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist preferred. Years of Experience Experience as a Mental Health Counselor providing clinical screenings, crisis intervention services, or conducting clinical intake assessments preferred. Certification/Licensure Valid driver's license is required.
