The Benefit and Wellbeing Manager will oversee and direct the planning, execution, and ongoing administration of the City’s comprehensive employee benefit programs, including health, dental, life, disability, retirement, and wellness initiatives. The role involves managing a diverse range of complex responsibilities requiring independent judgment, discretion, and a thorough understanding of federal, state, and local laws, regulations and policies related to employee benefits administration and a strong commitment to overall employee wellbeing. 

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who has: 

  • The ability to build relationships across the various City departments to fully understand each unique workforce and how City benefit and wellbeing programs can enhance employee engagement.
  • A commitment to ensure benefit and wellbeing programs are administered in a cost-effective manner and are aligned with the City’s strategic goals. 
  • Demonstrated strong emotional intelligence and skill in exercising diplomacy, discretion and tact in dealing with sensitive, complex and highly confidential issues and situations.
  • Strong analytical skills in using metrics and research to identify trends and underlying issues to support recommendations. 
  • Proven track record in finding creative solutions to complex situations and being a strong strategic partner to organizational leaders.
