  • Schedule: Full time, 40 hours/weekly, Monday through Friday, hours between 7:00AM - 5:00PM


Position in this function is under the direction of the Oncology Pharmacist Manager, this position facilitates the safe, high quality, effective and economic use of clinic administered medications including oncology and non-oncology infusion drugs. This responsibility includes accurate monitoring, preparation and dispensing of pharmaceuticals according to established regulatory guidelines and departmental policies and procedures. The Pharmacist will work collaboratively as part of the center's clinical care team.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Providing quality pharmaceutical care to all ambulatory care patients of Reliant Medical Group's Oncology Infusion Center. This includes all aspects of therapeutic selection, implementation, monitoring, modification and dispensing of drug therapy - with appropriate documentation and communication
  • Maintains and updates a patient profile as needed
  • Monitors drug therapy to evaluate appropriateness of use, dose, dosage form, regimen, route, therapeutic duplication, and drug or food interaction
  • Recommends appropriate drug therapy based on patient parameters and interpretation of current literature, safety, efficacy and cost
  • Timely and accurate dispensing of medications from the pharmacy area
  • Ensures proper technique and accurate preparation of all pharmaceutical products, including oral, non-sterile and sterile compounding, chemotherapeutic, hazardous, and investigational agents when supervising or preparing in compliance with regulatory guidelines and departmental procedures
  • Direct oversight of pharmacy technicians and all sterile compounding and distributive activities, working in conjunction with the Lead Technician
  • Contacts the prescriber, as appropriate, to clarify orders and/or make recommendations concerning alternate therapies.
  • Provides drug information to patients, physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff as appropriate
  • Assists in the development of policy and procedures
  • Collaborates with Epic analysts and pharmacists to support optimization and maintenance of the electronic health record and inventory systems
  • Documenting drug information questions, drug utilization evaluation activities and detection and documentation of adverse drug reactions and medication errors
  • Assists in the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee process for review and evaluation of treatment options and promotes the adherence to the RMG Drug Formulary as approved
  • Maintain clinical competency through successful completion of self-study modules and providing clinical services in practice
  • Participates in projects as determined by the strategic goals and initiatives of the department and organization such as the training, education and mentoring of other pharmacists and technicians and precepting of pharmacy students.
  • Participates in quality, safety and other project work outside of regular staffing duties
  • Maintains accurate records as required by departmental policies and procedures and/or federal and state board regulations
  • Complies with health and safety requirements and regulatory agencies
  • Complies with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives
  • Enhances professional growth and development through educational programs, seminars, etc.
  • Attends a variety of meetings, conferences, and seminars as required or directed
  • Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed
  • Regular, reliable and predictable attendance is required

Required Qualifications:



  • Graduate from an accredited College of Pharmacy
  • Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY1 residency or equivalent practice experience
  • Valid Massachusetts Registered Pharmacist License


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
  • PGY2 residency in Oncology
  • Board certified
  • 2+ years of Oncology practice experience (or equivalent residency experience)
  • Epic Beacon experience


Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $43.22 to $77.21 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
