SUMMARY:

Responsible for the management and performance of a team of commercial bankers within a specific geographic market, which could include multiple branches. Responsible for the loan growth, deposit growth, fee generation, and profitability within the market. May maintain a portfolio.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for the development and ongoing management of a highly functioning team of commercial bankers. Develops business plans and provides coaching, training and strategy guidance to bankers to assist them in achieving their respective professional development and sales goals. Administers annual reviews, assesses performance, and takes appropriate action to ensure that all goals and standards are met.
• Responsible for the commercial loan growth, commercial deposit growth, commercial loan fee generation, and profitability of the market. Performance will be measured against goals established for the market. Market President may carry a portfolio as necessary to support the achievement of the market's goals.
• Coordinates with retail banking, consumer lending, mortgage, cash management, and merchant services to establish strategies to cross-sell products within the market and promote the success of the bank as a whole.
• Ensure that the market's loan portfolio maintains sound credit quality. Loans are to be underwritten in compliance with the bank's credit policy. Exceptions to credit policy, delinquencies, graded credits, charge offs, and loan tickler items are to be kept to a minimum.
• Represent the bank in a professional, ethical, and moral manner to promote the bank in the market. Take an active role in community events and organizations and encourage the same from other bankers in the market.
• Communicate regularly with senior management and other market presidents to share best practices, business plans, financial performance, progress toward goals, market updates, and recommendations for improvement.
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.
• Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
• Must be willing and able to travel frequently within market and occasionally out of market to meet with clients, referral sources, bankers, management, and other business partners as necessary to achieve objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A minimum of ten years of commercial lending experience including time spent in preparatory positions.
• College Degree, Bachelor's preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY:

• The ability to motivate or influence internal or external senior level professionals is a critical part of the job, requiring a significant level of influence and trust. Obtaining cooperation and agreement on important outcomes via frequently complex, senior level dialogues, as well as a professional level of written communication skills are essential to the position.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise. Must be capable of up to 25% travel (e.g. 1 week or 5 days/month) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities. Travel will be necessary to conduct the duties of this job, and the employee must have the ability to drive and have proper licensing.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include lifting up to 5 lbs.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Starting salary is dependent upon relevant experience and may vary based on the geographic location of the position.
