Shared Services Supervisor

The primary responsibility of the Supervisor, Shared Services is to ensure accurate and timely processing of cash transactions, including reconciling payments, applying cash to customer accounts, and reconciling intercompany transactions across multiple entities. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Accountabilities

  • Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals responsible for intercompany payments, cash reconciliation, and cash application.
  • Manage intercompany transactions, ensuring proper allocation, documentation, and reconciliation of payments between subsidiaries or business units.
  • Oversee the accurate and timely application of cash receipts (e.g., checks, ACH, wire transfers) to customer and intercompany accounts.
  • Oversee the daily cash receipts with bank deposits and ensure discrepancies are investigated and resolved promptly.
  • Perform and review daily, weekly, and monthly cash reconciliations, ensuring alignment between bank records, intercompany ledgers, and financial systems.
  • Match payments to invoices, ensuring accurate allocation and resolving any payment disputes or unapplied cash.
  • Collaborate with the accounts receivable team to resolve payment issues and ensure timely collections.
  • Maintain accurate records of cash transactions and update financial systems with payment details.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in cash application and reconciliation procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts.
  • Assist in internal and external audits by providing documentation, reports, and explanations related to intercompany transactions and cash processes.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in accounting, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role focused on intercompany transactions, cash reconciliation, or cash application.
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Microsoft, Oracle, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, intercompany accounting principles, and financial reconciliation processes.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across multiple entities.
  • Experience with ERP systems and automated cash management tools is highly desirable.

  • Ability to push, pull, lift pounds unassisted.
  • Stand / walk for extended period of time.
  • Fine manipulation including handle touch object or tools and ability to handled controls to perform work.

*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience. The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person's relevant experience and/or education level.
