Position Overview: As a Mid-Level Test Engineer on the FBI CJIS CTP - Applications Team, you will play a critical role in validating the functionality, performance, and accessibility of enterprise COTS tools, particularly the Atlassian Data Center suite and IBM DOORS. You will develop and execute automated and manual tests, ensure Section 508 compliance, and support integration testing, plugin upgrades, and system releases. Working within an Agile/SAFe framework, you will collaborate with systems engineers, developers, and tool administrators to ensure that deployed solutions meet rigorous standards for reliability, security, and usability across the FBI enterprise. Requirements:
- Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and automated scripts for COTS tools, including Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, Bitbucket, and related plugins.
- Conduct comprehensive Section 508 compliance testing to ensure accessibility of new features, plugins, and system configurations.
- Validate system performance, security, and usability through automated regression, integration, and functional testing aligned with organizational standards.
- Support the CI/CD pipeline by integrating automated tests into release workflows, ensuring each deployment meets quality benchmarks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve test-related issues using PostgreSQL queries, backend logs, and plugin behavior analysis.
- Generate detailed test reports, documenting findings, metrics, and recommendations to support FISMA documentation and Authority to Operate (ATO) requirements.
- Assess, review, and provide feedback on government-provided test plans, scripts, and test reports for completeness and technical accuracy.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (e.g., stand-ups, retrospectives, sprint planning) and collaborate with cross-functional teams using Jira and Confluence.
- Manage user acceptance testing (UAT) activities, including coordination with end users and documentation of outcomes.
- Perform root cause analysis of test failures and recommend corrective actions to development and systems engineering teams.
- Assist in plugin compatibility testing and validation during software upgrades and release cycles.
- Provide training and technical support to team members and stakeholders on testing tools, best practices, and quality assurance workflows.
- Contribute to enterprise standardization efforts by documenting reusable test cases and supporting uniform test coverage across applications.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree preferred
- 5+ years of experience in software/system testing, with a focus on enterprise COTS applications and automated test development.
- U.S. citizenship and a minimumactive Secret clearance.
- Must be able to report onsite as needed in Clarksburg, WV
