Job Description
ECU Department of ITCS Academic Technologies is currently seeking several Computer Lab Monitors.
Computer Lab Monitor Duties:

  • Assist students with basic computer log-in and computer use
  • Address basic printer errors by replenishing paper, clearing paper jams, and replacing ink cartridges
  • Contact ITCS with any computer or printer issues that you cannot correct
  • Monitor food and beverage consumption - nothing on the computer/printer tables/areas
  • Other assigned duties as necessary


At the end of each shift:

  • Replenish printer paper with provided reams
  • If the paper recycling bin is full, move it to the hall
  • Clear and sanitize all table surfaces
  • Make sure each computer has a black chair, and it is pushed in at its station
  • Make sure other chairs are evenly distributed at tables and pushed in
  • Erase the board of any miscellaneous notes
  • Turn off computer lab lights and lock the door

Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.)
Computer Lab Monitors must be available to work in the evenings:

  • Monday through Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
  • Friday 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.


Work hours will be shared with other Computer Lab Monitors.
