Overview
The Vermont Department of Public Service (DPS) is seeking an experienced, flexible, and motivated Administrative Services Manager III to bring their expertise in contract and grant administration, reporting, information systems, federal grants, and related business office functions to our team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively. They will possess strong interpersonal skills and enjoy working with a diverse community of professionals. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. The Department works to enhance Vermonters' quality of life, economy, and security by advancing statewide energy and telecommunications plans, advocating for the public good, and ensuring robust consumer protection. This Administrative Services Manager will be part of the Administrative Services Division and play a key role in supporting the deployment of state and federal funding through programs that promote renewable energy generation, energy efficiency, broadband deployment, and affordability across Vermont. Key Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will have a familiarity with state and federal procurement and contracting processes, in addition to a working knowledge of energy efficiency, utility regulation, telecom or a related field. Work is performed in a standard office setting. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field AND three (3) years or more of experience providing professional administrative-level services to a business or organization which included an accounting or budgeting function and experience as a supervisor of clerical or administrative staff. OR Bachelor's degree in any discipline AND five (5) years or more of experience providing professional administrative-level services to a business or organization which included an accounting or budgeting function and experience as a supervisor of clerical or administrative staff. OR Associate's degree in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field AND five (5) years or more of experience providing professional administrative-level services to a business or organization which included an accounting or budgeting function and experience as a supervisor of clerical or administrative staff. OR High School diploma AND seven (7) years or more of experience providing professional administrative-level services to a business or organization which included an accounting or budgeting function and experience as a supervisor of clerical or administrative staff. OR One (1) year or more of experience as an Administrative Services Manager II with the State of Vermont. Special Requirements
For some positions experience working with the VISION system (VISION is the State of Vermont PeopleSoft financial management system) may be required. Total Compensation
