Overview:

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a Full-Time Quality Improvement Coordinator.

In this role you will be:

  • Assisting in the development, implementation, and monitoring of quality improvement projects and initiatives aimed at improving patient care, safety, and operational efficiency.
  • Collecting, analyzing, and reporting on quality data, identifying trends and areas for improvement in patient outcomes, satisfaction, and safety.
  • Collaborating with clinical and operational teams to implement evidence-based practices and process improvements that align with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements.
  • Providing education and training to staff on quality improvement tools, methodologies, and patient safety protocols.
  • Tracking/Trending medical staff performance.
  • Occurrence/Complaint investigation.

Education

  • BSN

Certification/Licensure

  • Virginia or Multi-State Registered Nurse License in good standing

Experience

  • 2 years of acute care
  • QI related activities preferred (medical record review, accreditation, PI activities)
  • Experience in a clinical area of an acute care facility with demonstrated leadership, teaching and QI/PI facilitation skills preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory and accreditation agency standards preferred (DNV or JCAHO)
  • Experience with data analysis, Excel
  • Knowledge around publicly reported quality data (CMS 5-star, QHIP, Leapfrog)
  • Must be able to link the clinical effectiveness and clinical informatics arenas
  • May require local travel and use of personal automobile.
