Clinical Dietitian/Senior Clinical Dietitian

Job Responsibilities:
*Provide comprehensive nutrition services to Brookside patients referred by medical providers, adjusting schedule as needed to ensure timely care.
*Assist patients with additional support, such as creating personalized meal plans, contacting Durable Medical Equipment (DME) vendors for updates, and conducting research on patient-specific nutrition questions.
*Apply for and manage grants to enhance nutrition services and develop educational programming, including community outreach initiatives that promote healthier food choices.
*Oversee and expand community nutrition initiatives, including managing programs like a fruit and vegetable garden, where patients learn to grow and incorporate fresh produce into their meals.
*Participate in working groups focused on addressing pediatric and adolescent obesity.
*Collaborate with community organizations to address food insecurity, organizing initiatives like cooking demonstrations and free cooking classes.
*Manage logistics for food access programs, ensuring patient access to resources like mobile markets and distributing relevant coupons.
*Collaborate with healthcare providers to organize and lead group nutrition classes and attend complex care meetings to ensure comprehensive patient care.
*Provide therapeutic nutrition counseling according to current standards and document patient care in the EPIC system.
*Serve as a resource for health center staff and community agencies, offering nutrition information and conducting in-service training sessions.
*Participate in department performance improvement and quality assurance activities.
*Complete required documentation and monthly statistics reports.
*Engage in department and health center meetings, training sessions, and community outreach projects.
*Collaborate with the FITC case manager, and WIC nutritionists to provide integrated care and develop comprehensive nutrition and wellness programs for patients.
*Supervise and train dietetic interns.

Education

Bachelor's Degree Clinical Dietitian required or

Master's Degree Dietitian preferred

Experience

Dietitian/Nutritionist: Completed Internship
Dietitian and Nutritionist [State License] preferred
Heartsaver CPR AED Certification [CPR] preferred
Registered Dietitian [RD] preferred
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist [RDN] preferred

Senior Dietitian/Nutritionist: Clinical Dietitian experience with multiple patient populations 3-5 years required
Dietitian and Nutritionist [State License] required
Registered Dietitian [RD], Registered Dietitian Nutritionist [RDN] required

Ability to provide nutrition counseling in Spanish is highly preferred.

Strong knowledge of general therapeutic nutrition, including maternal and child health.

Excellent individual and group counseling skills.

Strong oral and written communication abilities.

Proficiency with technology, including electronic medical records.

Strong teamwork and customer service skills.
