Neurology PA: Per Diem for Research Lumbar Punctures

Summary
The procedural physician assistant will work in a per diem role performing 1-2 research lumbar punctures per week for the neurology movement disorders clinic. The hours are flexible. The purpose of our research is to discover and validate biomarkers and genetic predictors for neurodegenerative disorders such as Parkinson disease, Alzheimer disease, frontotemporal dementia, and others. We intend to collect blood, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), skin, nasopharyngeal swab, and saliva samples, alongside detailed clinical data from patients with neurodegenerative diseases and controls. Samples, including CSF, will be de-identified and banked and may be shared with approved academic, industry, and NIH partners under strict agreements with the overall goal of improving diagnosis and treatment of neurodegenerative disease. Essential Functions: Performs complete histories and physical examinations. Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests. Consistently provides high quality and timely documentation including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes and discharge summaries. Performs lumbar punctures.
