Position Summary
The Institute for Global Health and Infectious Diseases seeks to find a part-time individual to help support its work in Global Health IT. We are seeking a dynamic and detail oriented recent person with strong programming foundation in Python, SQL and other data collection programming background. This role requires experience working in a multi-disciplinary team, and will contribute to the creation, development and useful data collection platforms with interactive data dashboards.

This role requires a strong foundation in data tools, health informatics, data systems architecture, and user-centered design, with a focus on improving data-driven decision-making in resource-limited settings. The successful candidate will help translate global health innovations into locally responsive tools that strengthen existing data health systems, improve clinical workflows, and empower all partners with actionable data to improve research outcomes. STI Rush Data System Development and Upgrade

  • Attend all meetings for RuSH Data System Transformation
  • Assist in designing and deploying RuSH medical record systems tailored to local clinical workflows.
  • Support system integration, testing, and user training in diverse health settings.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy and security standards


Data Collection Platforms

  • Build and manage REDCap and ODK forms for field data collection aligned with IGHID program goals.
  • Provide technical support and training to all IGHID field teams and local stakeholders.
  • Monitor data quality and troubleshoot platform issues to ensure reliable health data.

Dashboard and Data Visualization

  • Design and maintain dashboards in Power BI, Shiny and Tableau to visualize key health indicators.
  • Collaborate with program teams to define metrics that reflect local health priorities.
  • Automate data pipelines to support real-time decision-making and policy development.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with PI's, clinical, research, and M&E teams to align IT tools with global health strategies and local needs.
  • Document workflows, configurations, and user guides to support sustainability and capacity building across IGHID research sites
  • Contribute to digital health innovation and best practices that bridge global insights with local impact.
  • Review and revise existing data SOP's for IGHID global sites
  • Assist in building posters for conferences using Canva

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Associate's degree in Computer Information Technology, computer Technology Integration, Networking Technology, or related area and one year of experience in the information technology field related to the position's role; or

  • Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year experience in the information technology field related to the position's role; or
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, math or engineering or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Journey level required an additional one year of experience
  • Advanced level required an additional two years of experience.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

  • Experience with EMR systems (e.g., OpenMRS, DHIS2), REDCap, and ODK.
  • Proficiency in Power BI and Tableau for health data visualization.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

  • Experience working in global health or low-resource settings.
  • Commitment to equity-driven health solutions and community empowerment.
  • Experience working with Python, CSS, SQL, Node, Linux Bash, nVivo, Qualtrics and SPSS.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Hybrid 3 days a week.
