You will have a assorted amount of work in the locksmith trade and you will have the opportunity to broaden your skillsets with the Campus facilities Department as you will work side by side with the skilled trades such as HVAC, electrical carpentry, and plumbing when needed. There is never a dull, typical day on campus as we have a wide variety of buildings that range from over 100 years old to just under 2 years old, and some of our most iconic buildings have great history in Kansas City, for example Scofield Hall. Job Description: Perform skilled work on a journey level involving the installation, maintenance, service and repair of a wide range of locking mechanisms, door closers and exit devices, and in the fabrication, issuance and accountability for keys for such equipment. Also responsible for the software and hardware related to our campus card access system CBORD. Work is subject to spot checking and inspection for conformance to specifications and accepted standards of the trade. Functional contacts include co-workers, other service department employees, and other university staff and students. Key Responsibilities:
