We are seeking a dedicated and certified professional to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will hold a New York State Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant and will perform duties under direct clinical supervision.
- Change simple dressings, and administer enemas, douches, and irrigations as directed.
- Apply abdominal "T" binders, hot water bottles, aqua "K" pads, ice bags, coolers, and hot and cold compresses to patients as directed.
- Assist patients in collecting urine and stool specimens.
- Observe and record patients' quantitative food and fluid intake and waste output.
- Take temperature, pulse rate, blood pressure, and respiration rate.
- Give therapeutic baths such as sitz and fever sponge baths.
- Measure and record height and weight.
- Inspect functioning oxygen therapy equipment including tents, masks, and cannulae to ensure appropriate functioning.
- Recognize and report abnormal signs and symptoms of common diseases and conditions to clinical staff.
- Apply splints, braces, slings, and other self-help devices.
- Operate a variety of specialized patient monitoring and treatment devices.
- Attend to patients' hygiene and daily living needs to maintain an atmosphere conducive to patient comfort and treatment, including bathing, dressing, brushing teeth, and trimming nails.
- Collect and carry patients' laundry and dry cleaning and deliver objects to appropriate locations in the healthcare facility.
- Receive patients' belongings and transport objects to safe storage, keeping appropriate records.
- Feed patients requiring assistance.
- Move, position, lift, and transport patients using a variety of lifts and other aids as directed by clinical staff to ensure comfort, prepare for treatment, and prevent contractures.
- Provide bedpans and urinals to patients requiring assistance and attend to incontinent patients.
- Engage with patients by talking and listening to encourage cooperation and participation in treatment activities.
- May transport patients and supplies on occasion.
- May perform limited housekeeping and cleaning duties related to direct patient care to ensure treatment and patient areas are clean, sanitary, orderly, and properly supplied.
