Shift: C Thursday, Friday, Saturday and every other Wednesday 5:50am - 6pm

JOB SUMMARY

The Team Lead will coach and guide an assigned team through the daily activities in the fab to ensure smooth operations and efficient completion of projects to achieve company goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform Wafer Fab Operator production processes, as assigned. This accounts for 70% of labor hours.

o Assignment based on certifications and business needs.

o Potential for temporary movements to other areas, as needed to reach business goals.

o Follow the job description, policies, processes, and instructions for Wafer Fab Operator.

  • Obtain and maintain certification in all equipment in a specified area, exercising those certifications to ensure thorough understanding of all equipment in their area of support. Obtain and maintain additional certifications, as assigned.
  • Work directly with Fab Shift Supervisor to ensure the proper function of assigned area.
  • Perform peer training, as needed.
  • Work with Wafer Fab Operations, Engineering, and other departments as needed to complete any of the above items.
  • Provide team leadership responsibilities to their respective Team, including management of break coverage to ensure tool coverage
  • Leads team in conducting quals and setting plan/goals for shift
  • Participate in passdown at shift change to ensure a smooth transition between incoming and outgoing teams
  • Maintains detailed and accurate work records.
  • Collaborates with the team to identify ways to improve Team effectiveness.
  • Support company initiatives, such as; quality, safety and environmental management, CQI, 5S, yield management, and cost containment.
  • Support the mission and values of Polar Semiconductor LLC
  • Other duties, as assigned or required

Supervisory Responsibilities:

* Assists with training of operators within Team area

* Oversees the daily workflow, including assigning breaks

* Contributes insight to performance evaluations

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Demonstrated understanding of the wafer production process within the Team area including the Operating Instruction and tool interface.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to evaluate the overall team performance, identify key issues, and work with team members to resolve them.
  • Self-starter and self-motivated, a must Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate team to accomplish objectives.
  • Ability to remain organized.
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required Must have at least 6 months experience as a fab operator at Polar. Internal Applicant: Must be in good standing, at least a Wafer Operator 2.
  • External Applicant: 2 years of demonstrated experience in clean room fab, preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • Requires walking and standing on cleanroom floors for prolonged periods.
  • Working in a cleanroom environment and wearing clean room attire (bunny suit, mask, gloves, protective eye wear and booties).
  • Potential to work in proximity to hazardous chemicals with provided PPE and safety training
  • Lift/carry 10 pounds at a time
  • Push/pull up to 120-pound cart frequently.
  • Accurate vision, must be able to read small print.
  • Many wafer handling functions performed manually (i.e.: load, unload, transfer, transport, etc.) including operating hand-held devices such as keyboard, keypad, mouse/trackball, scanner and wand.
  • Many tasks require two-handed grip/grasp on a frequent, to continuous, and daily basis.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements throughout the course of 12-hour shifts, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Base Rate typically does not change for this position.

Specialists receive a 10% specialist premium added to the shift premium.
