Essential Job Duties |
The
Mental Health First Aid Instructors will report to the
MHFA Program Coordinator and will be primarily responsible for instructing and community implementation of the adult, youth and/or teen
MHFA training programs across North Carolina (e.g. public schools, charter schools, private school, community centers, non-profits). This position may assemble and organize training materials for participants, manage course schedule, disseminate marketing materials, and support efforts to achieve program sustainability. This position will work closely with the
MHFA Program Coordinator to maintain their work schedule and facilitate courses. This is a time-limited, part time (.50
FTE) position with guaranteed funding through December 31, 2025. This position will be located in Chapel Hill and will require up to 50% travel across NC. Both virtual and in-person
MHFA trainings will be required.
- Facilitate MHFA courses (Adult, Youth, and/or Teen)
- Complete Administrative task in Connect and other program systems
- Attend program specific meetings as invited
- Organize and disseminate participant training materials
- Complete other assigned administrative duties related to the MHFA program

- Must be a certified instructor through the National Council of Mental Well-being in 2 out of the 3 mental health first aid curriculum: Adult MHFA, Youth MHFA, and/or Teen MHFA.
- Must have a valid driver license and reliable transportation.
- Must be willing to travel across North Carolina and/or overnight.
- Must be willing to work some weekends and evenings.

- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple training events and administrative tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present information in a clear, concise, and engaging manner.

MHFA certified Instructor by NCBH for at least 2 years.
