The Role

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Product Marketing Manager, Clinical Labs who will be responsible for managing assigned products and projects in support of QuidelOrtho's growing Clinical Chemistry and Immunodiagnostic product portfolio. They will be a member of the Global Strategic Marketing team responsible for the development, maintenance, and marketing of the portfolio of Chemistry and Immunodiagnostic platforms and assays.

This role is responsible for supporting key decisions, cross-functional team alignment, and key stakeholder engagement as the designated representative of Product Management on product development core teams throughout the product life cycle from ideation to successful launch to discontinuation. They will enable regional partners to drive sales growth on an ongoing basis. Beyond the assigned products and projects, they will also contribute to cross functional teams to actively drive a strong, healthy line of product solutions that produce revenue growth and increase market share by delivering on customer expectations & needs. This position can be based in Raritan, NJ or Rochester, NY. Remote work options may be considered.

The Responsibilities
  • Assesses customer, market, clinical, and competitive landscape to establish subject matter expertise on assigned products. Develops competitive product/portfolio strategy and prioritizes product roadmap based on full assessment of market, customer, and competition (for both new products and product enhancements).

  • Identifies market need, builds business case, and defines product criteria and characteristics for new products entering development.

  • Responsible for all marketing/business deliverables throughout the development process for new product development projects (e.g., market model, global marketing plan, launch plan, pricing guidance, sales playbook, etc.)

  • Understands the needs of customers and needs of the business and represents those to project teams during product development.

  • Collaborates cross-functionally to develop marketing and salesforce collateral, including sales tools, value propositions, messaging and training that will be used to maximize sales revenues and share.

  • Applies knowledge of product strengths, weaknesses, and benefits to develop and execute competitively differentiated marketing strategies and plans that drive product penetration globally, in close coordination with regional commercial partners. Tracks KPIs on assigned products and shares insights on performance and identifies opportunities for incremental growth.

  • Develops and maintains tools to enable portfolio-wide analytics.

  • Generates tracking reports, dashboards, and ad-hoc analysis for product management team.

  • Supports product management team on assigned initiatives and projects as assigned.

  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

The Individual
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.

  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience, including at least 3 years of experience in medical devices is required.

  • Minimum 5 years total marketing and sales (or comparable customer facing and/or sales force interactions) experience.

  • Product Management experience preferred.

  • Sales experience preferred

  • IVD experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated success delivering results in complex projects.

  • Must have superior problem-solving skills.

  • Strong analytical, project management, and communication skills.

  • Understanding of business case development, financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting

  • Proven ability to drive prioritization of appropriate activities within competing priorities.

  • Must have the flexibility to travel up to 20% (International and US Domestic) per business needs.

The Key Stakeholders
  • Internal Partners: Project Management Teams for new product development - Serves as the Global Marketing representative on those teams throughout the product development process; Regional Partners: Collaborates on market knowledge, product needs, market models, marketing and launch strategies, etc.; Internal work team - Collaborates with other product managers, Brand Manager, and Clinical Marketing Manager

  • External Partner: 3rd Party assay companies - collaborates on both new and existing assays that may supply to Ortho

  • Marketing Agencies: collaborates on value proposition and collateral or campaign development

The Work Environment

Hybrid office environment. Must have the discipline, organization skills, and self-motivation to work autonomously and collectively with internal team members that are office or remotely based. Travel up 20% including airplane, automobile, or train. Some overnight travel is required. Some global travel required.

Physical Demands

No strenuous physical activity, though occasional light lifting of files and related materials is required. 30% of time in meetings, working with team, or talking on the phone, 70% of the time at the desk on computer, doing analytical work. Minimal travel required. Travel includes airplane, automobile travel and overnight hotel.

Salary Transparency

The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $135,000 to $140,000 and is bonus eligible. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time), and paid Holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
