Job Objective: Identify prospects and build relationships to cultivate, solicit, close, and steward planned gifts. Help donors consider planned giving options to maximize their personal goals while providing for The Salvation Army. Be a resource to major gifts staff, professional advisors, officers, and corps development staff in assigned area. Supervise Gift and Estate Planning support staff. Essential Functions:
Additional Duties: Assist Senior Director of Gift and Estate Planning with department strategy and budget preparation as requested Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor degree or five years of prospect moves and gift management Experience: Understanding and securing planned gifts. Knowledge of charitable tax laws and financial concepts Certifications/Licenses: CAP, CSPG, CGPP or CFRE helpful but not required Skills/Abilities:
Supervisory Duties: Direct supervision of Gift and Estate Planning secretaries Physical Requirements: The position requires sitting; climbing and/or balancing; stooping, kneeling, bending, stretching, crouching and/or crawling; standing; walking; manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; use of vision; driving a vehicle; pushing/pulling/lifting/carrying 25 pounds; traveling by airplane; both outdoor and indoor navigation of settings, and standing and/or walking up to 12 hours per day. Communication Demands: The position requires strong oral, writing, and listening skills in working with prospects who are mainly older. Respond quickly to inquiries from prospects and corps officers. Travel: Travel weekly to visit donors, prospects, corps or officers. Driving: Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business. Working Conditions: Daily work is performed in a typical office environment; may require some weekend and evening work. Event work may include hotels, indoor/outdoor venues, Corps Community Centers, and other public venues.
