Overview
Astrion's Launch and Safety Business Unit is recruiting highly talented candidates to support a contract that provides cradle to grave support to the United States Space Force Space and Systems Command (SSC) Assured Assess to Space National Security Space Launch (NSSL). We assist the Space Force by supporting a multitude of areas, including Systems Engineering & Integration, Acquisition & Program Management Support, Mission Integration Management, System Safety & Environmental Engineering, Systems Security & Information Assurance, Launch Schedule and Risk Management, Certification of New Entrant Launch Vehicles. Astrion is actively seeking a motivated, customer-oriented Systems Software Engineer to join our team at Cape Canaveral Space Force Base, FL. Duties - Responsibilities include analyzing and reviewing software designs and test plans, processes, procedures, functional and data requirements analysis, system analysis and verification, and documentation. - Areas of specialization include guidance and navigation systems, control systems, communications systems, digital communication protocol, electrical power distribution, control and transmission devices, signal processing, instrumentation, electromagnetic compatibility and interference, electrical interfaces, avionics electronics, and electrical ground support equipment. - Assess launch vehicle test tools in engines, mechanical devices, turbines, propulsion and fluids, materials and properties, contamination control, ordnance, mechanical ground support systems, life support systems, and environmental control. - Verify and validate launch, payload, and mission requirements - Effectively communicate with multiple DoD and LSP organizations to gather data and status - Develop, track, maintain, and communicate technical progress and schedule of missions - Provide and present weekly technical status reports - Develop products for and support flight worthiness review and approval - Support Launch Service Provider design and mission reviews, launch site rehearsals, and day-of-launch activities Skills - 12+ years of experience as software/systems engineer, technical lead or other related areas - Bachelor Degree in STEM field - Software design/build process and procedures - Engineering design, build, test, or integration skills/background in launch vehicle system, software, electrical, avionics, - Working knowledge of space launch systems and processes. - Software analysis including anomaly detection and resolution - Individuals in this role must have an understanding of launch vehicle processes and practices, launch site, preparations flow and day-of-launch procedures. - General understanding of the National Space Systems Launch vehicle launch interface requirements, launch transportation and processing requirements. - Space Force, NASA, other Government interface - Working knowledge of Jira, Confluence, and Share Point - DoD Secret clearance |
