Primary Purpose of the Organization: |
The Facilities Management department's functions are to design, construct, maintain, and operate the University's physical facilities. The primary objective is to provide and maintain facilities that will enhance and support the mission and academic goals of the University. Our approach is centered on providing a superior level of service to the campus community. |
Primary Purpose of the Position: |
The employee functions as a first-line supervisor, providing direction to a variety of subordinate staff. The employee works with minimal supervision and uses independent judgment to apply guidelines to specific situations. The employee supervises the work of custodial personnel, assigns duties, inspects work, investigates complaints regarding custodial service, and takes corrective action. The employee ensures that the building environmental services technicians/team leaders under their charge are properly trained and have the appropriate tools and equipment needed to successfully complete assignments. Duties may include the responsibility for equipment upkeep and for maintaining enough inventory of supplies. Work may be performed under administrative supervision and may include other duties as assigned. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: |
- Graduation from High School or possession of a GED, and
- one (1) year of experience in the area assigned; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- A valid driver's license. Must have and maintain an acceptable driving record, preferably five or more years of driving experience with no more than one minor at fault accident or violation in the past three years.

Knowledge skills and abilities: |

Preferred Qualifications: |
- Five years of supervisory experience, preferably in a university environment and
- Three years of advanced experience in maintenance or operation of custodial equipment
- Certified Educational Facilities Professional credential (CEFP) or ISSA certification.
