Summary:
Responsible for coordinating, planning, implementing, and managing healthcare-related programs and services for youth, focusing on promoting health education, wellness, and access to healthcare resources for children and adolescents within the community. This position works closely with healthcare professionals, schools, and community organizations to ensure that youth programs are effective, inclusive, and aligned with the organization's goals. Does this position require Patient Care? No Essential Functions: -Coordinate healthcare programs targeting youth, focusing on health education, wellness, and preventive care. Ensure that the programs meet the needs of diverse youth populations and address relevant health issues. -Organize workshops, seminars, and events to educate children and adolescents on important health topics, such as nutrition, mental health, substance abuse, and sexual health. Facilitate partnerships with schools, community centers, and other youth-serving organizations to extend outreach efforts. -Work with pediatricians, nurses, social workers, and mental health professionals to deliver comprehensive health services to youth. Coordinate with medical staff to provide screenings, immunizations, and health checkups as part of the programs. -Engage directly with young people to ensure they have a voice in the design and implementation of health programs. Advocate for youth-friendly healthcare services that address the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of participants. -Track program participation, outcomes, and effectiveness using data collection tools. Prepare reports for senior management and funding bodies to demonstrate program impact and identify areas for improvement. -Assist with the budgeting and allocation of resources for youth programs, ensuring that funds are used efficiently and effectively. Procure materials, equipment, and supplies necessary to run programs smoothly. -Ensure that all youth programs comply with healthcare regulations, safety standards, and organizational policies. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal requirements related to child and adolescent healthcare services. The College Advising Coordinator supports the development and delivery of college access and post-secondary advising services for high school students participating in Mass General Brigham's Youth Programs. This position plays a central role in preparing students, many of whom are first-generation and from underrepresented communities, to explore, plan for, and pursue higher education and career pathways. The coordinator provides individualized and group-based college advising, facilitates workshops, and fosters strong relationships with students, families, schools, and post-secondary institutions. This role requires knowledge of college access processes, strong facilitation and interpersonal skills, and a deep commitment to educational equity and youth development. This position reports to the Senior Program Manager, Summer and Alumni Program, and works closely with other Youth Program staff and partners to ensure a high-quality experience for all participants.
