Do you want to play a key role in shaping the technology ecosystem that is transforming the civil construction industry?

Position Overview:

The Industry Workflows Principal is a key role within Trimble's Civil Construction Field Systems division, bringing deep industry knowledge to the team to guide our strategic roadmap and ensure the solutions we deliver are solving immediate industry problems as well as driving breakout innovation.

What You Will Do

  • Bring the voice of the industry and the voice of the customer to the table:

    • In our product strategy and roadmap discussions - ensure that our solutions address real customer problems and fits with customer priorities.

    • In our marketing - ensure that our campaigns and messaging are telling the right story, and will reach the right customers.

    • In our long-range strategic planning process.

  • Coordinate customer input:

    • Run the regional Customer Advisory Board (CAB).

    • Engage directly with key customers to understand their pain points and requirements (facilitating conversations with Product Managers and other stakeholders).

  • Engage with regional/local industry solution providers that are complementary to Trimble, and help them to become part of the Trimble ecosystem.

  • Represent Trimble at tradeshows and industry events, give presentations, and publish magazine articles and blog posts that tell Trimble's story and the impact it has on the industry.

  • Represent Trimble on industry bodies and standards groups (eg NBIMS, ABAB), with educational bodies (i.e. Universities, Union groups, etc), and with policy makers.

  • Work with the Trimble Education group to identify, engage with and support education programs with the Trimble civil construction workflow.

  • Educate Trimble staff about the industry, and how our solutions are used - run workshops and webinars, and facilitate customer visits.

  • Establish yourself as the subject matter expert across Trimble, acting as a key advisor for Field Systems and AECO teams serving the civil construction industry. Identify and guide opportunities for improved workflows that connect in-field and back-office functions within the civil contractor that can be enabled through Trimble solutions.

What Skills & Experience You Should Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, geomatics engineering, surveying, construction management or related fields, 10+ years work experience with a minimum of 5 years of directly relevant experience in the civil construction industry.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and be able to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment, in a global organization.

  • Ability to break down and explain complex industry practices and methods for people that don't have industry experience.

  • A good working knowledge of Trimble solutions and how they are used within the civil construction industry.

  • Credibility in talking to industry stakeholders.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally. While estimated at 25-40%, the exact amount of travel will be determined by the successful candidate's geographic location.

Compensation: Trimble provides the following compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that it in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position. This compensation range is based on a full time schedule. Trimble reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, or federal law.
