As a Senior Information Security Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of designing and implementing cutting-edge cybersecurity strategies that protect our IT networks, systems, and applications from unauthorized access, modification, or destruction.

In this dynamic role, you'll be responsible for engineering comprehensive cybersecurity architecture and documenting system security requirements while recommending effective solutions to management. You'll configure, troubleshoot, and maintain our security infrastructure, ensuring seamless operation and protection. Your expertise will extend to managing software that monitors for security breaches and intrusions, administering authentication and access controls, and monitoring systems for security incidents and vulnerabilities.

Your keen analytical skills will be essential as you respond to security incidents, investigate computer-based attacks, and coordinate with third-party responders. You'll develop innovative technical solutions and new security tools to mitigate vulnerabilities and automate tasks, all while preparing detailed reports and standard operating procedures. Your strategic approach will enhance security controls and procedures within our business processes, leading medium-sized and complex projects to bolster security operations.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, MIS, Mathematics, or Engineering, plus 4 years of experience in Information Security, or System Administration; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 8 years of experience with Information Security, or System Administration.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
  • Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

How You'll Stand Out

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, MIS, Mathematics, or Engineering, plus 6 years of experience in Information Security, or System Administration; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 10 years of experience with Information Security, or System Administration.
  • 5 years of experience as a System Security Engineer or Information Security Engineer.
  • Proven experience developing, operating and maintaining security systems.
  • Professional certifications (CISSP, CEH, GSEC, AWS Certified Security, others)
  • Extensive knowledge of operating system and database security.
  • Hands on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc.
  • Proficiency with network security and networking technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools
  • Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols.
  • Familiarity with web related technologies (Web applications, Web Services, Service Oriented Architectures) and of network/web related protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills.
  • Great awareness of cybersecurity trends and hacking techniques
  • In-depth knowledge of application security and application security best practices.
  • Experience managing customer expectations.
  • Experience identifying short and long-term issues and providing solutions.
  • Knowledge of other business areas. Demonstrates strong team building skills, adapts to unexpected changes, and acts as a strong role model.
  • Demonstrates strong negotiation and conflict resolution skill.
  • Broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures in this field of specialization.
  • Experience completing assignments that are broad in nature, usually requiring originality and ingenuity, with appreciable latitude for unreviewed action or decision.

  • This position can be remote within the United States with travel to our Modesto, CA headquarters as needed.
